The Alabama Society of Medical Assistants (ASMA) is a proud affiliate of the American Association of Medical Assistants, dedicated to supporting and uplifting medical assistants across our state. We believe that every MA—whether just starting out or decades into their career—deserves access to meaningful education, strong professional networks, and leadership opportunities. Through statewide events, continuing education, and a welcoming community, ASMA empowers Alabama’s medical assistants to thrive in their careers and make a lasting impact in healthcare.

We know Alabama is a big state, and not everyone lives near a chapter hub. That’s why ASMA offers virtual meetings via Zoom and FaceTime, so medical assistants from every corner of the state can stay involved, informed, and inspired. Whether you're in a rural county or just prefer to connect online, you're always welcome.
Our At-Large members are encouraged to join any chapter meeting that fits their schedule or interests. We’re here to make sure every MA in Alabama has a seat at the table—no matter the distance.
